The Places We See: Architecture in Portland

This event is led by Portland Public Library

Join Portland Public Lecture for a Zoom photo tour of some of the architectural styles we see around Portland, Maine, and become better acquainted with the motifs in our midst.

We’ll look at images taken around town, showing some of the dominant styles of architecture and how to recognize them, followed by a brief discussion with PPL’s Archivist & Special Collections Librarian Abraham Schechter about the historicity of our local built structures. We’ll also look at the Library’s Digital Commons archival images, in the context of the study of local architecture.
