The Historic Marker Program is a community outreach effort sponsored by Greater Portland Landmarks to celebrate the rich community history embedded in our built environment.

Download your marker application and use our research guide to learn and document your property’s history. Landmarks will verify the research and compose the context statement and plaque design.

The marker application, research documents, and photographs can be emailed to info@portlandlandmarks.org with a subject of Marker Program.
